Have just got talk talk to and sports pack, I have been happily using by home hub 5 but now the tv boost channels do not work with that. I am not on fibre. I don’t like the hg633 as the wireless is flakey at best.. is there another decent modem/router that will work with talk talk boosts..

thanks in advance..

I use the Billion bipac 8800nl on fibre but it's suppose to be one of the best for ADSL, without any issues with talk talk boosts. It's been as solid and stable as you like for last 2 years. They have an updated model now selling on Amazon for just under £60.

WiFi is not flakey on this model but its range is not great but that's not a problem for me as I use power line adapters from devolo, again no issues.

Cheers for that I will look into that...most of my equipment is connected to the router one way or another, mainly via cables and switches....just I don’t like the tt router, I never had any issues with the home hub 5. Just shame can’t use it with boosts...

Hi, I thought I did add my landline. It's ok now, the problem is resolved. I spoke to customer support on the phone and after running through some tests they agreed the box was broken so I was sent a new box that is working beautifully!
Thanks

Hi,

This is a known issue and can affect a box at any stage on an update.

I always find it advisable to do a soft reset after any update. To do this hold the power button on the front for around 10 seconds and the box should restart. Alternatively, you can turn off from the back and power back on.

If this doesn't help then try  YouView Maintenance Reset

Try the Factory Reset keep recording option.

You will then need to reset your personal settings (such as parental controls / RF loop through / Surround Sound etc.) and also reset your scheduled recordings (might be worth taking a note of future recordings before doing this so you don’t miss any).

Hope it works but if not then please let us know and I’ll flag for further assistance.

Have the free Sky channels been discontinued. I clicked on Sky 1 today and was asked to subscribe to the starter boost at £5 per month. I havent used these channels very often so wondered if the free service had ended.

Thanks

Inclusive Sky channels were a feature of the Plus TV package which is no longer available to new customers. If you are on a Fixed Price Package then any TV content comes at an added cost.

Hi Roger

I see you're on a PlusTV legacy contract and that does include the 6 free Sky channels as a Starter Pack Boost included in your deal.

The channels are still there, I've just checked as I'm also on a PlusTV legacy contract.

Have you looked at MyAccount / My Services / Manage TV Boosts / Your Boosts ?  You should see:

Manage your TV BoostsManage your TV Boosts

Your contract started 12 months ago and was for 18 months so you shouldn't have a contract issue.

I'll also alert a Community support OCE to have a look at your account and the OCE will pick this up from Monday onwards. Just ensure your current TalkTalk landline telephone number is in your Community Profile's Personal Information section so they can use that to bring up your account details.

I was on an 18 month contract until last month but following e mails from TT I signed another 2 year contract last month which seemed like a good offer. I wasnt aware that there would be any difference to my services and I would  lose my free Sky channels,  I may have been better off seeing out my existing contract. As it is now over 20 days since I changed it would appear I'm stuck with it.

...yes if you've changed to a Fixed Low Price Plan then the previously included free Boosts aren't included with the new plans.

My legacy contract includes free TV Starter pack and free anytime landline calls so I'm on lower costs with a legacy package.  But then you did say you didn't use the TV Starter pack much so maybe it's not so much of a loss in reality.

The IDENTIFIER should have a mixture of numbers and letters are you sure that what you have shown is the IDENTIFIER not the SERIAL NUMBER, next line down under settings. It is the long number with dashes in it.

Aside from the never ending spam emails I am getting I had problems with my TV remote tonight after struggling for a while I contacted chat and the first operator did their best to help and transferred me to technical. I explained the situation and provided all the relevant detail only for the operative to terminate the call while I was trying to respond to a question they asked!

At the moment I seem to be doing nothing but complaining about my service which is something I have not had to do for a while now. But I have to ask what is the point of having operators who arbitarily terminate conversations.

Fortunately I have after calming down and thinking logically I have been able to resolve my issue, but it is simply not good enough to have people terminating a conversation.

Moan and rant over time for bed, I have a golf game arranged tomorrow!

Hi

Any issues with other players ?

If only UKTV player has an issue it could be an issue there side, but I've seen no other reports.

If all else fails you could try a Youview Maintenance Reset(Option 4: Keep Recordings). Please note any future scheduled recordings will be lost and will have to be rescheduled.

Set the box up and retest.  If it is a direct issue with UKTV however it may not resolve, but always worth a try.

Karl.

Hi

Try manually setting the network connection on the YouView box, in the Settings Menu go to Network & Internet, toggle to Manual and then use the following:

IP address 192.168.1.100
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.1

DNS 79.79.79.79  /  79.79.79.80

Reboot everything and retest.

Thanks

Karl
