Re: IPC 6023 Since December 1st

We've also had the IPC6023 message since early December (having lost the basic sky and sky sports channels). It's the first opportunity I've had to take a look at the problem. How many times should you have to reset the router!!

 

Currently looking at the box / screen which is wired directly to the router (in order to eliminate the powerline adaptors) and the IPC6023 message is there. Can see that the software for the box was last updated on 1st December, so wonder whether this is the cause of the issue?

 

Will look to raise my own post in order for a OCE assistance, but will follow yours with interest brianhillard.

Hi Hawk3y3.

I hope you get your issue sorted.

I'm hoping the network team get this fixed.

I'm thankful I have the TallkTalk Player with Sky On Demand to watch the programmes that are currently failing during recording due to the error. I too have the basic Sky Channels and that's the ones I have lost.

Hi,

 

The new software is rolling out in stages and we are unable to give an exact time scale for individual boxes.  The rollout will complete over the next 2 months and your box will update to the later software at some point during this time frame.

Hi, 

 

We need to swap the primary box assignment in our database.

 

Can you tell me the last 4 digits of the Device Identifier. 

This can be found as follows : Y Button > Settings > System Information > Device Information
 
With this information, I can then identify the correct Set Top Box in our IPTV database.

Youview box Part recording or Failed recording.

Hi, 

For a couple of months now my Youview box has either failed to record (Ch4 mainly) or Part recorded all the shows I have set on 'scheduled record'. It seems to favour recording for between 17 & 23 minutes and thats all you get. The shows I'm trying to record are on Quest  and Channel 4 although it has happened on other channels such as More 4 and Film four. I've had my box for two years+ and have never had a problem before. I've tried all the factory resets/maintenence resets whilst keeping all my recordings and none have worked. There are no overlapping issues and I have 70% or more free space. The only difference I can see is that we have moved to a new area (only 4 miles from our old house) and it was ok when we first moved. I tried contacting Talk Talk customer services by live chat and was told it was the Broadcaster's issue and there was nothing Talk Talk can do. What am I supposed to do now? Help!! Any advice would be much appreciated.

   Please can you advise how to stop a new box deciding it is the primary box over an original box before this happens?

 

I am in the same position with a new box for another TV, but with the boost channels and lots of recordings on the original box on my main TV. I am now worried about setting up the new box in case this happens to me and I lose my recordings on the original box.

What has changed from a list to pictures? Is it the EPG? Sounds terrible.

 

I am yet to receive the new update and am dreading it - apparently there are lots of backwards steps like the loss of the small picture of the channel you're watching while you navigate menus.

 

I wonder if there is a way of preventing the update on my box?

Will this re-instate the original box as was? i.e. will the 'boost' recordings become viewable again? Is it possible that this 'primary swap' might randomly happen again?

Youview error message TIG-239 after software update

Hi,

My Youview box (ID with last 4 digits: 3eb7) is giving me the TIG-239 message when I try to access a boost channel. This box was set as my primary box & was working fine yesterday. There are currently no other Youview boxes powered on.

I did notice in Setup that there had been a software update performed today.

Can you please reset this box back to primary so I can access my boosts.

I think it's really unfair to call posting in the same thread about a similar issue 'hijacking', which implies a malicious motivation. Many forums have exactly the opposite policy: don't start a new thread if there is already one on the same subject. How are we supposed to know what you prefer before you tell us?

Hi Carl

Thanks for that. I did actually get an update on the 6th though, and in settings it says the most recent update was on the the 6th of December i.e. yesterday. Is this a different update to the big one? In settings it says : Manufacturer software, 72.42.57, Component software,  3.0.47.

How can I make sure my new YouView box doesn't become my primary box?

Starting a new topic as per preferred forum etiquette.

 

I have a new box for another TV, but with the boost channels and lots of recordings on the original box on my main TV. Reading this forum I am now worried about setting up the new box in case the new box decides it's my primary box and swaps the boost channels and deletes my recordings on the original box.

 

How can I make sure this doesn't happen?

Thank you for that Karl. I came home to a message today asking me to phone and arrange for an engineer to come out and see to the problem. However after an hour on hold all I was told to do was the same as you asked me to do the other day with resetting everything! I was placed on and off hold for a further half hour. I kept trying to explain that I was told to phone and make an appointment but not allowed to do this and kept being told that was from a different department?? I don't understand and gave up out of sheer frustration. Any suggestions?

Updated yesterday and now I have a blank TV guide, changing channels is taking forever and channels such as Pick, Really etc are unwatchable due to interference!!!!

I had a phone call this evening from the TalkTalk UK office, and after speaking to him I am even more confused.

He told me my box was fine (I kind of knew that). But then he said there was something wrong with my fibre.

He went on to say that my speed is lower than I should be getting and is showing a large amount of errors.

My sync speed is a little over 62mbs, and my download speed isn't far off that.

He is sending Openreach out next Thursday.

Plus I have a Brightsparks engineer coming out too.

Can someone look into this?

You may as well cancel the Brightsparks engineer because my hardware and home connection has been confirmed as working.

 

My TV still isn't working, but my fibre seems great.

Totally confused.

What i would like see is

when you click on information button it tell you when the same program / film is next on i.e. Next hour / in a few days 

 

what age someone should be watching the film in i  button
