Disrupted service - lack of updates, and refund?

Hi,

 

We lost all phone and Internet in the Boxing Day floods, and finally regained some partial service on 14th January. Phone is is fine now, but we are only getting 9Mbps download speeds, down from 38Mbps before the floods. We also have no premium channels - they do not show up in the channel guide. I have reset the box. This did not work.

 

i have spoken to TalkTalk many times.  They keep saying than an engineer will ring or text to update me but this does not happen. We are no longer in an area that Openreach describe as "adverse weather conditions" but this is what I get fobbed off with each time I ring.

 

I purchased the Sports boost solely to watch the England vs South Africa test matches, which started on the day we lost service, and I fear that I will miss the final one, too!

 

Terms and conditions seem to say that they will not compensate for lost services due to network issues. Typical!

 

How can I find an accurate status of this issue, and get some money back (assuming it's ever sorted!)
