Re: Power Supply Making Loud Whining Noise

Thanks for plug info. This is also Centre Positive for other information. (Most things are nowdays, but I have come across a few oddballs which are negative positive!).

A equivalent no-name is about £3-£3.50 from a welll known popular auction site. Make sure you get 2A or 2000ma. DO NOT GET 200MA!!! - it will be far too small!

Its worth also noting that the Super Router also uses a plug marked Huawei which has the same plug size, however the plug for the Super Router is 1 Amp (1A), where the YouView Box is 2A (2 Amp). Both made by Huawei. (Does TalkTalk have Shares in them? lol!)

Not sure if the YouView box would work on the wrong 1A power supply, but I would not recommend trying it, although also thinking with the same name and socket sizes it could be quite easy for someone to get their plugs mixed up (if moving for example or working on the devices and unplugging them) and guessing there is at least one person out there who has the wrong plugs in the wrong devices. Of course using a 2A on a device which only requires 1A is not a problem.
