I believe they've also tried calling me on a couple of occasions but I declined to answer for the very reasons you outline - in particular a wish not to be regaled with a script.. Initially I was wary of answering as since the security breach "unpleasantness" we've had a couple of phishing calls purporting to be from TT to tell us that there's a problem with our broadband which requires them to fix it for a fee..
Anyway, a quick number lookup indicated that it was indeed TalkTalk who then replied to my original email to ask for my account details so that they could progress the matter.
My response - via email - was to say that I wished to register my displeasure at the decision to amend the TV service and if this wasn't the correct channel through which this could be achieved then perhaps they could point me in the right direction.
Since I have heard nothing since I can only assume that my original email did indeed go to the right address.
