Had the same email. I've just been on the phone to TalkTalk to air my frustration and disappointment. The email says:
"To ensure we provide the best entertainment we regularly review all our channels, and sometimes need to remove some as well as add new ones. As a result we’re removing 6 channels: Discovery Channel, Discovery Home & Health, Animal Planet, TLC, Sony TV Asia and Star Plus".
I asked TalkTalk to explain on what planet providing the best entertainment results in removing 6 channels. They couldn't give an answer. I asked them why they thought customers would be happy with this. Again no answer.
My wife watches TLC all the time and I watch Discovery. Not interested in the other channels and the two we watch are being removed.
If you go onto the TalkTalk website they are still advertising the channels as being available. There is no footnote saying that 6 of the channels are being removed in 3 weeks time. Basically enticing potential customers, drawing them in to sign up, when in fact 6 of the channels will not be available in 3 weeks time. I explained this to the TalkTalk customer service assistant and again, no response, other than they will pass the complaint on.
TalkTalk don't seem to have learned from last years experience on how to keep customers happy. Extremely disappointed in how they have gone about this.
