I had to create an account, just to say OMG Thank You so very much nikrik for the guidance! I have struggled with this since I moved [along with my Asus AC66U and BT modem] to TT just over 18 months ago.
A little background: With all of the palaver with multiple price rises & personal information theft on top of TT TV not working for me, I was leaving after the last price rise. However, after being sent a TT warning letter that to leave was going to cost £400+ [within the 30 day amnesty period mind] I was offered a loyalty retention that was good enough for me to convince me to stay. This included [what I understood to be] a free downgrade to Simply BB and no change to my contract term. After ensuring the BB move to Vodafone was cancelled, I called TT back to take them up on the offer. I was told that it had expired but I could downgrade for £50 and start a new 18 month contract on Simply BB!!! Well, I'm still here but not for 18 months!
Bright Side: I can now [finally] use all of the features of the TT YouView box, which takes some of the sting out of having to cough up nearly £50/month for the next 12 months. My apologies, rant over for now.
Yeah! Nice One NikRik!! FWIW to others in the same position, I'm using the latest minus 1 Merlin Firmware:378.55_0. There's a new Asus FW [378.56] available from yesterday but I'll be sticking with me bubbly chocolate thank you very much, seeing as it is now working :-)
