Hi LindyLou48
Another option would be a 3rd party powerline adapter with a AC passthrough ( allows you to plug the powerline adapter into the main wall socket and then the plug on the extension directly into the powerline adapter ) .. this way its plugged in as recommended and you havent lost the socket you were originally using
i recommend the "500 Mbps TP-LINK AV500 Pass-Through Powerline Adapter Starter Kit"( https://www.scan.co.uk/products/tp-link-tl-pa451kit-500mbps-av500-powerline-set-with-ac-passthrough-twin-pack-2x-uk-plugs-128-bit-ae ) .. this is rated to support up to 500mbps and since no talktalk connection is avalible above 100mbps ( with the exception of some UFO customers ) this is ideal
PASSTHROUGH POWERLINE ADAPTER
Im suprised more manufactuers dont make their powerline adapters this way allthough it would cost slightly more than no passthrough powerline adapters to produce
hope this helps LindyLou48
