Why can't my upgrade be a limited period of Sky Sport free

My main reason for having TalkTalk TV is to get Sky Sports. In the wake of the recent security debacle why is it not possible for me  - and others affected in the same way - to have the option to have Sky Sports free for a limited duration rather than just being offered alternative upgrades which I don't want!

If I wanted films I would have chosen that option in the first place, while past experience doesn't get me too enthusiastic about a TV engineer visiting for a 'healthcheck' of my equipment. The volume control of our sound system/TV hasn't worked as it should do since the last one was here.

It is all rather insulting to make subscribers take out a new service rather than have a discount on their existing service. The hope is that people will continue with the new boost I guess after the free period. And to cap it all, if you don't want to take advantage of any of the deals you are offered a £10 discount!!!

Like many others I have suffered considerable hardship from emails, spam attacks and the worry of my account details being hacked over the last three or four months, so what a shame that the compensation deal should be so limited and, as in my case, inappropriate.

Can anyone tell me if there is an option whereby I could cancel my Sky Sports boost and then become eligible for a free Sky Sports upgrade (for a limited period) thereafter?  Or would this still not be an option ....

Ben
