resetting the youview box worked for me too. So why are Talktalk still not listing this as a solution? and why does the issue arise in the first place?

The TalkTalk TV Terms & Conditions do require you to have the box connected to their network, or they may ask you to send it back, or pay a charge for it....

But if you do connect to the network you should get all the boost and catchup channels as they are delivered over the internet. May as well make some use of it if you are prepared to pay for it - IMO.
