Hi, earlier on tonight I activated the free sky boost upgrade on my TalkTalk account. My online account confirmed that it had been activated and I received an email to confirm this. It said it would be available within 10 minutes but it is still not working over 2 hours later.
When the YouView box is turned on I can go to "my boosts" and select the available Sky channels from there. When I do it responds with a message directing me to the channel concerned. For example channel 402. When I go to channel 402 I am asked to set up the channel and press okay. Everything seems to be setting up when a blue error box appears stating that the box needs updating with error code ttg-217 given. Initially the box did need updating but it made no difference. Now it is saying it is updated fully but still insists it needs updating when I try to access Sky sports.
I have checked this code on the relevent TT technical page and this indicates that either the box needs updating or the router needs updating. I know the box is fully updated and that therefore points to the router, but that is fairly new and came with the YouView box about a year and half a go. When I check how to update the router on another technical page, it says that this should be done automatically. I have tried powering down and restarting both router and YouView box to no avail.
My son says he has experimented with other channels. On Demand works okay as does the internet. However, channels that we didn't have came up with the same problem/error code, if that is of any help. It does vaguely suggest that the Sky channels are still not available, but as as I have pointed out they are showing up in My Boosts on the YouView box.
Has anyone any ideas what could be wrong?
