Hi - Our TalkTalk Youview Plus box appears to be faulty - can we please try a replacement?
The issue we have is that on some occasions channels are pixelated/scrambled which makes them un-viewable
When this first occurred (ever since we first got the box) we thought it was perhaps due to interference from other devises, so we moved it well away from other devices - it still happened. We then thought it was perhaps due to weather conditions, but it can't be this because it can happen when the weather is calm. We also have a neighbour who has TalkTalk TV and they don't report any issues with their reception when we experience issues. We often find that programmes we have recorded are un-viewable.
What is odd is that when this happens it appears to only be on standard definition channels (we don't get all channels in high definition in our area) but when we are experiencing the issues for example BBC One standard definition will be totally pixelated but BBC One HD will be crystal clear.
When the issue occurs we have tried disconnecting the aerial (which is external on the roof) from the Youview box and connecting direct to our TV which has a built in Freeview HD receiver, and there is then no issue with any channel reception at all.
We also find when we have the signal issues on the YouView box that when the 'TalkTalk' and 'Youview' buttons on the remote control are pressed, nothing happens.
We have tried everything we can think of, I don't believe the issue is simply down to poor reception in our area at all. As mentioned above we have tried connecting our aerial direct to our TVs HD receiver, there is no problem with any standard or high definition channels and have never had issues with channels using our Freeview HD in the past. Our neighbour who also has a TalkTalk Youview Plus box doesn't have the same issues that we have.
Can we please try a replacement box? Thanks.
