 I am guessing you have a shiny new SONY TV which has both YouView and Android TV features on board. Whilst these will give you a wide array of features, it is not possible to "pause live TV" and so on without a hard drive of some sort in the equation. So generally you do need an additional PVR (Personal Video Recorder) of some kind, like a YouView+ box to take advantage of these features.
