It doesn't seem unreasonable to me that TalkTalk would not be able to control non-TalkTalk boxes and resrict multiroom use.
I presume that this is done using the TR-069 remote management system that TalkTalk use, and I'm not sure if BT use the same system. I doubt very much that the two companies would cooperate with each other in order to maximise their income from a small minority of customers who use boxes from different companies. But of course I may be wrong. Perhaps Sky require them to do so.
