Thanks for the quick reply. I'm glad to know I've done things right so far. I will be adding a fan when it arrives in the post, so thanks for that tip also.
Regarding the black tape I mentioned in my second comment, it appears to be a thin copper tape, topped with some kind of black PVC.
Do you think it's necessary? In my mind at least, it's an extra layer that the heat has to penetrate. The copper may be considered a heatsink of sorts, but the black outer layer must be causing some kind of thermal barrier? Wouldn't the metal cases alone be a good heatsink?
It seems quite evident that it's not been used on the 372.
