Re: BBC HD Channel wrong region

As far as i am aware the BBC does not broadcast regional HD programmes but BBC Wales does have differnet broadcasting times for normal programmes so it is entirely possible that as there is no "region" they can broadcast all programmes in HD.

Actually, the BBC do transmit region variances of BBC1 in HD. I get BBC1 Wales in HD, and I think they have BBC1 Scotland and BBC1 Northern Ireland in HD.

However, here in Wales anyhow, we do NOT get a regional version of BBC2 in HD. Ironically, I'm taking advantage of that fact as I write this; on BBC2 Wales (SD) is a rugby programme, Scrum V. I'm recording Mastermind on BBC2 HD for my Mother!

Just for the record, until a few weeks back we were receiving ITV1 HD for the Central (West) region. Now we have ITV1 Wales in HD too! We used to get S4C in HD (named "S4C Clirlun"), but not anymore. I think S4C found they couldn't afford it!

Just a thought: Could it be that your box is picking up the Llanddona transmitter and thinking that's the right region for your HD?
