Spent 30 mins in chat room and then 15 mis with account person, the result is that I am apparently no qualified for the NO STRINGS upgrade to free calls as am on the  "wrong sort of contract" Needless to say i am very upset at talktalk after being with them for years. To rub it in a week later I got an e-mail from them offering free upgrades which made me madder than ever. Time has come to move supplier (might even pay penalty to end contract early) How many others are affected in this way? There may be something in small print about exclusions but the free upgrades with no strings message is annoyingly in my face every time I go to webmail!  From a very angry Geoff.

Disgusting  - But if you have an actual email offering you free upgrades then the offer should be honoured.. May I ask were any of the upgrades actually mentioned, or just an email saying you would be offered upgrades? It doesn't really matter which way it  was (whether a specific or non-specific offer was made).

I'd be interested to know what kind of contract you're on - all customers (regardless of type of contract) were inconvenienced and troubled by the possibilty of our email addresses and bank account details being compromised, not to mention the inability to check our online TT account for a lengthy period. I fail to see how the type of contract could exclude you from similar compensatory upgrades to all others.

I believe PAYING to leave early is playing into their hands.

(Just thought as I wrote that):  Because you're tied into a contract but have been with TT for many years. Did your current contract start AFTER the hacking incident? That is the only reasonable possibility  I can think of - but not if an offer was actually made.
